Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information WatchDog Media LLC (“WatchDog”, “we”) collects through the WatchDog app and website, how we use it, and the choices you have. The short version: we keep only what WatchDog needs to work for your family, and we never sell your data, run ads or track you across other apps.
Information we collect
- Account information: your email address and sign-in details, or the information provided by Sign in with Apple or Google if you use them.
- Child profiles you create: a first name or nickname, birth month and year, and the comfort and learning settings you choose. Children don’t use their own accounts.
- Family settings: the topics and preferences you choose to be alerted about.
- Your activity in the app: saved titles, your watchlist and your search history.
- Technical data: basic device and app version information that helps us keep the app working and fix problems.
How we use it
- To provide the service, including calculating each child’s fit for a title.
- To keep your account secure and to respond when you contact us.
- To fix problems and improve the app.
We don’t sell or rent personal information, we don’t use it for advertising, and we don’t track you across other companies’ apps or websites.
Service providers
We use Google Firebase to host the app’s data and sign-in. If subscriptions are offered, payments are processed by Apple; we never see your card details. These providers process data only on our behalf.
Children’s privacy
WatchDog is designed for parents and guardians. We don’t knowingly collect personal information directly from children. Child profiles are created and controlled by the adult account holder, who can edit or delete them at any time.
Keeping and deleting your data
We keep your information while your account is active. You can delete a child profile or your whole account in the app (Settings, then Privacy & data). Deleting your account permanently removes your account, child profiles and saved titles. You can also email us to request access to or deletion of your data.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit and protected by access controls. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information.
Changes
If we change this policy, we’ll update the date above and, for significant changes, let you know in the app.
